Katherine Soutar is inspired by myth and legend from the UK and around the world, but most of all from the county where she lives, Shropshire. A talented illustrator, and a member of the Association of Illustrators, her style is detailed and imaginative. Her signature products, showing her best known Dancing Cat designs, are well known across the country, from exhibitions to specialist 'cat-related' shops, such as The Cat Gallery in York & Edinburgh, as well as in the historic Ironbridge Gorge, where she works from a studio in the former Victorian tileworks at Maws Art and Crafts Centre in Jackfield, on the banks of the River Severn.

Katherine is married to Bill Caddick of folk music fame and together they draw from personal stories history & folklore to produce their respective arts. Katherine also helps to organise the annual Festival at the Edge, storytelling festival.
